Investing in the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards

The Manchester Garden Club and the Perennial Planters believe that today’s students and lifelong learners will become tomorrow’s leaders in protecting our natural world. Each year, we proudly award a $2,000 scholarship to support individuals pursuing education in horticulture, conservation, and related environmental fields.

Whether you dream of designing sustainable landscapes, restoring habitats, studying native plants, managing forests, protecting pollinators, or advancing environmental science, we encourage you to apply.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to Connecticut residents who are enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a Connecticut college or certificate program. Applicants may be:

• Graduating high school seniors
• Current college students
• Adults returning to school or beginning a new career

Eligible fields of study include:

• Horticulture
• Floriculture
• Botany
• Forestry
• Landscape Design
• Plant Pathology
• Environmental Studies, including Conservation, Climate Change, Stormwater Management, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
• Or another closely related field.

Recipients are selected based on their commitment to their chosen field and their educational goals. Financial need and town of residence are not factors in the selection process.

Applications include a completed application form, a cover letter describing your educational plans and career goals, and a transcript for high school and college applicants.
