Karla’s lecture experience dates back to 2001, when she began offering lectures at Gledhill nursery in West Hartford, CT. She has taught gardening at Capital Community College where she offered various one-hour courses on gardening, both at their Hartford campus and throughout the community. She currently lectures to homeowner’s associations, garden clubs, women’s groups, and in various special places like the Southeast Home and Garden Show at Mohegan Sun and at Gardeners Supply in Burlington, Vermont.

Currently she is the garden columnist for We-Ha Magazine and the Book Reviewer for the Connecticut Horticulture Society, as well as the sole author of an organic gardening blog, “Gardendaze.”

Her backyard is certified as a Backyard Habitat by both the Connecticut Dept. of Environmental Protection (Certification #22) and the National Wildlife Federation (Certification # 34,999).  She has been a totally organic gardener since 1994.
