The Buckley Memorial Garden

Located at the original town center, the Buckley Garden is marked by a memorial commemorating a visit by George Washington, and was the site of the Woodbridge Tavern. Dedicated on September 29, 1994, this garden at Manchester Green honors siblings Mr. William E. Buckley, one of the first presidents of the Manchester Garden Club (1936–1943), and Miss Ellen Buckley, a gifted floral designer. The garden was redesigned in 2024 as a native garden that showcases the beauty and ecological value of native species, including Butterfly Weed, White Wood Aster, Beardtongue, Bowman’s Root, and Monarda.
